Next Meeting – Thurs 19th Aug @ Apple Store Bath

Bath Apple store manager, John Osborn has confirmed that he’s booked a professional photographer, Dean McLachlan, to talk to us on 19 August.

His interests are quite wide, as you can see from his web site (made in iWeb), and he is about to go off with the Bath rugby team on tour.

Dean suggests that we all take our cameras along for some personal tuition. He plans to concentrate on photography, rather than the computer side, and will use Aperture.

The session starts at 7:00pm, and is expected to run until around 8:00pm / 8:30pm.

Friday 19th March 2010 Meeting

Friday’s meeting is only a few days away, so here’s a quick reminder.

Remember, we have had to change our venue to:

Emerson Green Village Hall
Emerson Way
Emersons Green
Bristol
BS16 7AP

The itinerary is as follows:

7:30pm – 7:45 – Notices, Welcome, Subs
7:45pm – 8:15pm – AGM

8:15pm – 8:30pm – Break

8:45pm – 9:00pm – Mac Surgery / Q&A
9:00pm – 9:15pm – Introduction to OSX Finder (Rob. H)
9:15pm – 9:30pm – Demos

9:30pm – Finish

I’ve put together some material for a short demo around OSX Finder, but I don’t think it will last anywhere near 15 minutes.

If any of those people attending (list further down in this email) can show one or two things off it would be very much appreciated.

Also, with this being our first meeting having the “Mac Surgery” it may be an idea for us to open it up a little so we can find out what those attending use their Macs for, what difficulties they have, and what tips (if any) they can offer others.

As only Martin and Ash have been to the new venue the evening will also be an opportunity for those attending to see what they think of the new place, and if they feel it’s a location we should return to on a monthly basis.

Confirmed attendees are:

Martin
Ash
Rob H
Glynn
Jeremy
Martin Royds
Jen Royds
Adrian
Trevor Barnes (possible)

As a reminder fees are as follows:

- Those who have paid the 12 month subscription – £2
- Those who have paid the 6 month subscription – £2.50
- Those who haven’t paid a subscription – £3.00
- First timers – FREE!

Fred will be away, so I’m collecting the subs. I’ll try and bring change, but please do not rely on it, as unlike Fred I don’t have access to the float/kitty.

See you Friday,

Apple Store and November’s Meeting

A big thank you to all who attended last night’s (19th October) Apple Store meeting.

November’s meeting is due to take place on Monday the 16th, but the landlord of Cadbury Heath Social Memorial Club needs the room for another function, so we’re looking to make a one-off change to either the venue or date.

More news soon.
